CompuStrike Round-by-Round Stats

Inside the Numbers: Griffin was clearly the busier fighter overall, throwing 268 more total strikes than Jackson. Jackson was more efficient (and landed the harder shots), landing 49% of his total strikes to 33% for Griffin. Jackson had a 67-48 edge in arm strikes landed, 64 of which were power strikes to 47 for Griffin.

Griffin had the advantage in the ground game. He had a 46-14 edge in ground strikes landed, bolstered by a 44-0 edge in round two. In fact, Jackson did not land a single strike the entire five minutes after absorbing a numbing leg kick two minutes into the round. Griffin also had four submission attempts and registered two dominant positions.

Griffin’s huge round two was the difference in the fight.
